Hey all,
I am a musician / inventor down in Miami, I have been an acoustic elctronica musicians for some time, though I only just now joined here.
I have a home-grown looper that I use which allows me to control audio loops independently of one another. Since it is an invention that people here might appreciate, I thought I would drop a quick post .....
I am trying to get as much feedback as possible as I need to make this as useful and user friendly as I can for both musicians and DJs (and us hybrids). This is a sponsored product and will be completed this spring.
Please check it out at www.flyloops.com.
There are several video demos there (a couple of which you can find on youtube, if you prefer).
I think watching the videos should give you a good idea of how it works ..... after that, just lemme know.
PS - anyone else here from Miami?
Thanks,
Aaron Leese

Re: DJ Musician Fusion -- livetronica
Tue, February 13, 2007 - 9:22 AMhey aaron,
nice work! Do you have any info about system/software/hardware requirements? I do a bit of looping with live instruments, pretty basic stuff using the Boss stompbox, so am always curious what's out there.

I haven't tested it all the way down to figure out bare minimum requirements, but it seems to work fine using a windows XP, 1 GHz machine ....... no soundcard problems yet .....
I'm re-writing it for VST and ASIO, which should give the best possible latency. I would recommend an audio device with native ASIO support then ... but it's not neccessary, I often run the program with my crappy MME driven conexant onboard soundcard (gateway computer).
It is not yet compatible with Macs, hope to get that done this fall.
The other really big improvement I would like to do (which will only be possible once the program is fully ASIO compliant), is to seperate the audio inputs, so that various instruments could play at once, but you could tell the computer to record and loop just one of them. This would be very valuable for a group of looping musicians (think of a full band where each member could seperately loop they're instrument ... but all the loops would stay synced).
Anyway ... I'm getting off track.
Thanks for the response .... please lemme know if you have any other questions.
